How to Key Out Green Screen with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017

“Key Out” means making a color (green) transparent, so you can replace it with any other video clip, graphic or still image.

Prepare Background

  • Put the background clip (shark tank) on V1.

Prepare Foreground

  • Put the foreground clip (Adrian with green screen) on V2.

Add Ultra Key

  • Go to the Effects tab
  • Select Video Effects > Keying > Ultra Key
  • Drag Ultra Key effect on top of the V2 clip (Adrian with green screen)

Pick the eyedropper

  • Go to the Effects Control tab
  • Click the arrow next to Ultra Key
  • Click the eyedropper next to Key Color

Sample the green background

  • With the eyedropper, click on the green background in the Program Monitor.
