SDI cable: Use a coax cable with 75 Ohms impedance, both the RG6 and the RG59 are 75 Ohms, the important thing for an SDI cable to work correctly is that the shield is closest to 100% coverage. The ideal is to use a cable such as Belden 1505A or 1505F that is flexible.

Have issues with this and the Blackmagic Design switcher. Very hit or miss if you are trying to convert a computer signal to talk to your blackmagic. Tried every setting and it would not work. Ended up buying a Datavideo DAC-70 and it worked great. Plus the DAC-70 has manual dip switches, so I don’t have to deal with any menu junk.

I’m a Decimator fan, but I have to give it a big fail on this one. Unfortunately, I use this now as an expensive HDMI to SDI converter and it works great for that. But only for video signals. NOT for computers.

Test notes

– on Mac start up, wait for bg process to complete.
– put iphone to flight mode
– turn off notification on iphone
– turn off notification on macbook
– turn off siri
– DO NOT turn on buffering in scene video capture setting
– DO NOT activate Mac sound preference.
– do not turn on quicktime iphone movie recording.
– do not use Stop Stream with (Discard Delay). It cut off the end.
– remember to click both stream and record
– TURN OFF preset in video capture device setting.
– set audio mix
