At a glance, it’s better than my favorite GoPro Hero7 Black.

Dual Screens

The first thing I complain about my GoPro is that it is difficult to shoot selfie videos because I cannot see myself with the display screen behind the lens. The DJI Osmo Action has TWO screens! One in front and one at the back. YES! 👍

NOTE: The front screen is for viewing only. Touch control is on the back screen. 😭

NOTE: Video will stop and start recording if you switch between screens while recording. 😭

RockSteady Stabilization

DJI is known for making outstanding mechanical camera stabilizers for its drones and handheld gimbals. The Osmo Action shoot steady footage with election image stabilization combined with complex algorithms they call RockSteady. 👍

The GoPro Hero7 Black is also rather good in this feature. So a side by side comparison is required.

HDR Video Recording

HDR, or high dynamic range, is a feature I wish exists in all my cameras. It balances the bright and dark areas. No more backlight problem. 👍

Again the GoPro has this. Let’s see who does it better.

NOTE: HDR and RockSteady cannot work together. 😭

How long is the battery life of Osmo Action?

A fully charged battery can support video recording at 1080P/30fps for up to 135 minutes 👍 (with RockSteady turned off), and 4K/60fps for up to 63 minutes 😭 (with RockSteady turned on).

How long does it take to fully charge an Osmo Action battery?

It takes approximately 90 minutes to fully charge a battery.

Can Osmo Action be connected to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?

Yes. The device can connect to both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Osmo Action supports microSD cards with capacities of up to 256GB.

I have a problem with my GoPro action camera. I cannot shoot selfie videos. I cannot see myself while shooting selfies. Whereas, The DJI Osmo Action Camera has TWO screens! One in front and one at the back. YES!
