How to Make an Object Float in Mid-air using Capcut Green Screen Effect

In this Intermediate Capcut Edit Tutorial, I document how I make an object float in mid-air using the green screen / Chroma Key effect…

  • First, hang your object on a green string.
  • Place the green screen in the background.
  • In this example, my GoPro is hanging in front of my green kitchen towel.
  • Ensure good lighting and record the object spinning a few rounds.
  • Open Capcut and start a New Project.
  • Select the main video and tap on Add.
  • Tap on Overlay and Add Overlay.
  • Choose the green screen object and tap on Add.
  • Add a rectangle mask to isolate the green background.
  • Apply Chroma Key. Select the green and adjust the Intensity.
  • Go to the beginning of the green screen clip. Add a keyframe.
  • Resize and reposition the object.
  • Move the timeline forward a few times to change the size and position.
