Are you considering whether to buy the Zhiyun Smooth 4 or the Zhiyun Smooth Q2?

Smooth 4 vs Smooth Q2 (comparison)
- USD119 vs USD139 (that’s the price as at 19 Dec 2019)
- April 2018 vs October 2019 launch dates (of course the Q2 is the newer version, but… different)
- Not foldable vs foldable (that’s the main feature difference)
- Taller vs shorter (that’s the other main feature difference)
- Comprehensive vs Minimalist control panel on the handle (Q2 is easier to operate)
- No joystick vs joystick control (badly needed this on all my gimbals)
- No control vs direct wireless control over the smartphone native camera recording function (no need to use the ZY Play App on the Q2 to start recording)
- 12 hours vs 17 hours battery life (longer is better so Q2 wins)
- 300 vs 360-degree horizontal rotation (360 is better so again Q2 wins)
- 210g / 7.41oz vs 260g / 9.17oz load capacity (Q2 is smaller but can hold heavier phones)
- Both have timelapse, vertigo shot, object tracking, and panorama, etc.
- Both can use ZY Play App.
In conclusion, there is only one reason to get Smooth 4 over Smooth Q2. That reason is the comprehensive control panel.
What can the Smooth 4 comprehensive control panel do that the Smooth Q2 cannot? I will cover that in the next post.

where is hte next vdo / I must use they Zy app on the smooth 4 for Vdo shoots or Gimbal control. Then what is the Flimic Pro app for that everyone uses That also has tons of problems; so I read. I don’t want to have an integrated gimbal; vdo app mouned on my tripon but a remote cam. app to control my gimbal or even vdo; if possible. Kinda like vdo shoots from 20 yrs ago with complete remote control and using BT audio thru an ext mic.

Given that. … just an app for gimbal control is all that’s needed. Other apps can control the vdo controls. if Filmic is intergrated; then who’s doing to touch buttons on the phone/giimbal thats in use ? Makes no sense. …
The app takes care of all the buttons missing from the Smooth 4 ?
but.. if your in the action movie; ; you need button control for all right ? unless like you say I must use this zy app for vdo ??
