Multicam Made Easy

Buy NearStream VM33

Switching between cameras is simple – just a tap on the screen of the Nearstream Multicam app! This app isn’t just for basic controls; it turns your phone or tablet into a full-fledged live streaming control center.

I connected two VM33 cameras, one for my headshot and one for close-ups. With the app’s Video Switcher, I seamlessly switched between shots during my live stream. This is perfect for live selling, where you can show yourself and your products effortlessly.

Multiview and Picture-in-Picture

The Multiview feature is awesome – it lets you show multiple camera angles at once. I even used the picture-in-picture mode to show a small video of my face over the product shot. The app supports up to four video sources, so the possibilities are endless!

Overlays for Professionalism

I love adding text and graphics to my streams. The VM33 app offers several overlay options: full screen, over-the-shoulder, lower third, and corner bug. I used them to display my stream title, product details, and even a call to action to visit my website. The best part? You can edit them on the fly, even while you’re live!

Audio Mixing and External Input

The built-in audio mixer is useful. I adjusted the audio levels from both cameras and even plugged in an external microphone.

Auto Director for a One-Person Crew

The Auto Director feature blew my mind. It automatically switched between cameras and multiviews based on my settings, making my live stream look like it had a whole production team behind it! This freed me up to focus on engaging with my audience.

No Cables, No Hassle

One of the biggest advantages of the VM33 system is the lack of cables. No video switchers, audio mixers, or monitors – everything’s in the app, which works on both iOS and Android devices.

A Few Wishes for the Future

As much as I love the VM33, I do have a couple of wishes for future updates:

  • Audience comments: It would be great to see viewer comments directly in the app.
  • Multistreaming: I’d love to stream to multiple platforms at once, including TikTok.

Final Thoughts

For less than US$500 per camera, the NearStream VM33 offers an incredible value. Get a couple of them, and you have a powerful multi-cam live streaming setup that’s easy to use and incredibly versatile.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments if you’d like to see more about the VM33. And don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe!

See you in Part 3!
